CAUSE MARKETING MAKES BRANDS STRONGER

“When companies market themselves while tying their products to a cause or issue, sales and corporate image can benefit significantly. ~ Cone/Roper, 2001

Savvy business owners realize that by contributing to or promoting a cause that means something to them, they get both a “feel-good” and a wise marketing strategy. A Cone/Roper “Cause Related Trends” report found that Americans solidly and consistently support cause-related activities and that contributing companies see benefits to their brand’s reputation, image as well as their bottom line.

According to a 2007 article in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, for every new dollar a retail company, bank or popular goods manufacturer allocates to its charitable-giving budget, it can expect sales to grow an average of $6.00, according to a study by several university researchers who attempted to quantify the economic benefit of corporate giving. Many of today’s consumers like to buy from businesses that are willing to go out of their way to help make the world a better place.
