Fond Farewells and New Beginnings
It’s hard to believe, but this is my last week at Art with Heart before I transition into my next chapter. It’s been an incredible two decades, and I’ve treasured the opportunity to partner with you to help so many young hearts.
If you’re a new friend to Art with Heart, welcome! What a great time for you to discover us—we’re in the midst of a beautiful transition that will benefit children in need as Art with Heart continues to grow and change.
If you’re not a new friend, then you know how integral you’ve been to Art with Heart’s creation and growth over the years. I am so grateful for your support and friendship. You have helped over 150,000 children facing hardship transform their lives through the power of creative expression, and none of this would be possible without you. I’m honored to know all of you.
While I won’t be on staff at Art with Heart beginning in 2017, I’ll still be Art with Heart’s biggest supporter, and I’m thrilled to know that the organization is in the capable hands of CEO Heidi Durham and a staff who live Art with Heart values every day.
Please know that to my mind, Art with Heart’s success continues to be all of our success, and I hope that you, like me, will continue to help the organization grow and thrive as we reach more children in our backyard, around the country, and throughout the world. I’m honored to announce the Lorig Legacy Fund, which will ensure Art with Heart’s long-term sustainability. If you’d like to make a year-end donation to this special fund, please visit artwithheart.org/donate or contact Jake Abbott at Jake@artwithheart.org
As I step away from my heart’s vision and into a new journey, I’m filled with awe: that Art with Heart became a reality, that it has helped so many, and that your support made and continues to make it possible. Thank you hardly does this emotion justice, but it will have to suffice. Thank you for believing in this idea, and in my dream, and in my ability to bring it to life.
