Art With Heart

HANDS-ON SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Art with Heart offers monthly workshops that teach adults how they can use their creative talents to help youth through the Chill & Spill program. These workshops are geared toward therapists, educators, and volunteer at youth care organizations as well as individuals seeking personal enrichment.

Participants will get hands-on time creative time exploring an activity from the book. During this Saturday morning training, you will learn how to:

  • focus on the process rather than the end product of art making
  • emphasize self-expression, not just technique
  • use Chill & Spill as the foundation for encouraging self-expression

The biggest difference between the previous Art Buddy trainings and the new format will be that the primary focus will now allow participants to have a richer hands-on experience. We will model what an actual art-making session with a youth could be like using the Chill & Spill curriculum, in order to strengthen your confidence in various artistic media, as well as different activities from the book.

RSVP is required and the cost of the workshop is $35, which helps cover supplies, refreshments and staffing. Check the Events page for upcoming dates and more information on the next available training.

We are excited about your interest in the new Chill & Spill workshop format, which will empower you to engage youth in a structured journey of self-discovery.

Be sure to sign up for our monthly e-newsletter to hear about happenings and volunteer opportunities!
