INK ABOUT IT

Change is hard for everyone, but for a kid, it can be devastating, depending on what’s going on. Whether they are dealing with a health challenge that keeps them out of school, a divorce that forces them to move, or a death in the family – change can bring about complex and confusing emotions that are difficult to deal with.

Ink About It is Art with Heart’s newest therapeutic activity book which was developed in collaboration with educators, school counselors, therapists and psychologists. Featuring a combination of writing and art prompts, Ink About It supports youth (ages 11+) as they develop their understanding of
themselves and their emotions.

The book serves as a springboard for self-discovery, conversations and personal growth. Ink About It features 45 activities, prompts, posters, and coloring pages that
explore topics that matter to teens: friendship, fun, dealing with stress, coping with loss and change,
and dreams for the future. Activities are based in cognitive behavioral, narrative and art therapies and lead the kids in a developmentally healthy way towards social and emotional wellness.

Co-written by founder Steffanie Lorig, therapist Annie McCall, MA, LMHC and Child Life Specialist Kate Gardner, CCLS, the book features a combination of writing and art prompts that help kids explore and express what’s going on inside them.

The book is one-color (“Bic Pen” blue) and features funky illustrations (by 31 different professional artists from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Spain and England) that serve as a springboard for self-discovery, conversations and personal growth.

Books are available at the Art with Heart online shop and proceeds benefit children in crisis through our books and programs. Bulk discounts are available.
