Ed_Comp_Cvr-2"EDUCATOR’S COMPANION TO CHILL & SPILL

This new resource was developed with the support of Committee for Children to complement their “Second Step” anti-bullying program for middle and high school students. The Companion supports the use of the Chill & Spill journal, which utilizes a blend of creative and expressive arts experiences that encourage students to communicate and explore their creativity and individual voices.

The curriculum outlined in the Companion makes an excellent addition to arts, health, psychology, writing, and life-skills classrooms. It is especially useful for educators who are interested in bringing the expressive arts into their classrooms and are looking for an age-appropriate tool or curriculum that is structured, focused and sustainable. The guide shows how to adapt the journal for students, providing discussion points, expansion ideas and project materials lists. Art with Heart created a supportive guide to empower therapists, social workers, and counselors to help them get the most out of Chill & Spill with the youth they work with.

The Therapist’s Companion to Chill & Spill guides mental health care workers through the concepts behind Chill & Spill in order to increase the therapeutic value to youth. The goal of the Companion is to strengthen the leader’s understanding and confidence while using Chill & Spill with youth in their care.

Therapists and counselors who have not yet utilized the expressive arts in their practice will benefit by gaining knowledge of the concepts and therapies behind each activity found in Chill & Spill.

The guide shows how to adapt the journal for both individual and group settings, providing discussion points, session expansion ideas and project materials lists. A resource kit for groups is available as well at our online shop.
