HELPING FOSTER CARE YOUTH

All children need stable, lasting relationships with caring adults to ensure their healthy emotional and social development. But for children and adolescents in foster care, these essential relationships are not guaranteed. In order to help meet this ever-growing need, Art with Heart has created a Foster Care Youth Initiative.

The goal of this pilot project is to reduce the initial impact and trauma that youth undergo when first removed from home. Over the first year of the program, Art with Heart will be able to provide therapeutic Chill & Spill books to 2,700 foster youth, as well as training to 400 mental health professionals working directly with foster youth in the Seattle area.

We were recently awarded $20,000 from the Norcliffe Foundation to help launch the program. The total program budget is $100,000. For more information, contact Mary@artwithheart.org. Or donate online now.
