Art With Heart

I learned that I am capable of creating beautiful, exquisite pieces of art. Everything is within reach if I try and believe in myself. ~ Julie, Student

THE HISTORY OF THE ART BUDDY PROGRAM

Since 1996, Art with Heart has offered artistic, healing workshops for youth in crisis in the Seattle area. We receive inquiries almost daily, asking how they can do what we are doing in their own neigborhood. To meet this need, we created Art Buddy in order to empower artists, designers and writers who want to use their talent to give back to their community.

LOCAL WORKSHOPS

Our monthly Art Buddy Workshops empowers local artists, writers and designers to connect with youth in need in Western Washington, encouraging them to use their creative talent to give back and guide kids towards greater self-confidence and positive self-expression. At the workshops, artists learn how to use Chill & Spill to engage youth in a structured journey of self-discovery. Participants learn interpersonal and listening skills and get some hands-on time creative time to explore an activity from the book. For more information on the next available training or directions please write to info@artwithheart.org. Also check out our Events page for upcoming dates.

THE MANUAL FOR THOSE OUTSIDE THE SEATTLE AREA

The upcoming Art Buddy manual will help to break down boundaries, teaching artists outside of our program area how to use Chill & Spill with youth in their own communities. It is due out at the end of 2007.

Be sure to sign up for our monthly e-newsletter to hear about happenings and volunteer opportunities!
