1. Our new Board member, Bob Bowen from World Vision mentioned wanting to bring Art with Heart’s Chill & Spill program (and me!) to Capetown next year to work in a village dedicated to helping youth develop coping skills through art and sports. This would be an incredible opportunity to expand our reach globally and help children who are in dire need.
2. An art therapist in South Africa recently received free Chill & Spill journals through the generosity of a wonderful donor (thank you Joe Isaak!), and has reported that she is considering leading an all-girls group of pre-teen girls from disadvantaged areas who are part of an HIV program. Wow. Powerful stuff…
3. I had a meeting today with Mary Schroeder who is a mental health educator with a huge heart for Ethiopian refugees. She envisions many ways Art with Heart’s programs and books can help these children heal from the difficulties they encounter as they are displaced from their cultures.

Obviously something is percolating and I’m excited to see what it is and how Art with Heart can make a difference for these children…
